Some of the
outstanding features of Furlboom Provides
for a
fully battened mainsail to maintain optimum sail shape.
Provides progressive sail flattening (de-powering)
and
outhaul when reefed.
Notice the flattened batten at the left and
slacked outhaul in the right photo. The system was
tweaked until the ultimate sail shape available
could be used. A number of other products compromise
the sail shape to make it work right. The
drive
assembly incorporates a ratchet locking feature to
maintain luff tension and to prevent the furling line from binding
in the rope drive. Rugged stainless steel and bronze
drive components ensures durability and dependable
performance.
The Furled Sail is contained
inside the tapered boom housing. Open front end allows luff
travel and prevents potential jamming. Built-in
cover for long-lasting mainsail protection and
effortless covering.
Raising, furling, or reefing the mainsail is easily and safely accomplished
by one person from
the cockpit. Only three lines feed into
the cockpit for control. The halyard, the furling line, and the
ratchet release.
